This book names names. Karl Lobb the murderer, Natalie Walker the lawyer with a secret surname and major conflict of interest, the ‘Porn’ Judge Robert Fisher, the ultra-rich Hugh Fletcher, a QC with a bias David Jones, politician Judith ‘Crusher’ Collins and many more. It also accuses but it is primarily designed to expose; to UNMASK. Defamation in New Zealand is a difficult discipline but the law is in essence simple. Speak a lie about someone and that slander is illegal. Legally we call this defamation. There are many defences though . . . at present you are still allowed by law to speak your opinion (if you really do believe it); to speak the truth and to exercise what is called privilege. In this first chapter I share how I have attempted to unmask error from crooks all the while, doing the honourable thing.
Doing the honourable thing means that you stand for the little people, sure but that you tell the big guy what you are about to do to him before you do it.
It gives Goliath the chance to cover up even more, or to do the honourable thing themselves should they choose to. I note that they rarely do all the while trying to cover and run for cover as they see this as their most natural defense mechanism. It is only fair that the ‘porn judge’ Robert Fisher knows that there will be incoming attention on his relationship with Hugh Fletcher, Natalie Walker etc.
Ditto the politicians who variously shuffle power around to leverage their own positions. Why do we not give them the opportunity to do the honourable thing despite our assumptions that they will only make a decision our way when it is their interest to do so?
There are two disclaimers important to this book, the (defamation) laws of New Zealand (https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1992/0105/latest/whole.html) and my personal terms.
